Since we are getting 1000's of inquiries on the meaning of stamps, we are dedicating a whole post just to answering your questions as best we can.

Each answer is a mostly likely scenario. Since there are so many fakes and similar hallmarks, we can not guarantee 100% that any one answer is what you have for sure.

Many hallmarks require a photo to 100% identify and there are a lot of answers that are a best answer for the the description given to us.

1k is the designation for 18 karat gold in Asia

14KCG jewelry stamp meaning.

I have a silver color ring that I found while metal detecting and it's marked 14KCG. Is it white gold? Is CG the maker and who and where is it from?

I will say this is an odd marking for me to see on a ring. This marking is most commonly found on alloy pendants that have a light gold plating.

It is entirely possible that this is white gold and CG is a maker's mark but my first response is this is a light gold metal alloy.

It depends on what you mean by fake 800 stamped on jewelry stands for 80% silver. If you bought it as sterling it would have been marked 925.

9ct plat means the ring should be made of 375 platinum or 9 parts per 24 pure.

This is similar to 18ct gold being 750 gold or 18 parts per 24 pure gold.

18C Jewelry Stamp Meaning

Hello I have a necklace that says 18c on one side and 926 Italy on the other side it's a 20 inch necklace that appears to be silver could be white gold I can't find information anywhere please help thank you

This one is a little confusing as 18c almost certainly means 18 karat gold while the 926 stamp is for 22 karat gold. It could be that some links are 18 karat and others are 22karat. I will also say that most necklaces are not made of 22k due to how soft the gold will be with that much purity.

Hi i am wondering what this means as we have 925 stirling siver and “925” on one site it said the "925’ was solid gold can you please advise me on this?

925 is absolutely the mark for sterling silver. It is possible that it has gold plating.

My advice is, do not buy from this shop without further research. It could simply be a type-o or maybe something that we have not seen or heard about.

This one is tough because ster means sterling silver. R stamped in a ring is usually for rose gold but unless this ring is plated with rose gold, I don't have a full answer for you.
